Expected results
  • The Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of Romania was signed on December 11, 2024, in Chișinău, outlining the construction of a new 400 kV interconnection line between Strășeni (Republic of Moldova) and an electrical substation in Romania determined by CNTEE "Transelectrica" SA based on a system study.
  • Based on the system study conducted by CNTEE "Transelectrica" SA and ÎS "Moldelectrica", the Gutinaș substation was selected.
  • The Ministry of Energy and USAID signed the Memorandum of Understanding on the financing of the 400 kV Stășeni–Gutinaș transmission line, the third interconnection line with Romania.
  • On November 13–14, 2024, a meeting was held in Bucharest between representatives of ÎS "Moldelectrica", CNTEE "Transelectrica" SA (Romania), the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Moldova, and the Ministry of Energy of Romania, organized by USAID. Discussions focused on the strategic 400 kV Stășeni–Gutinaș transmission line project, including an analysis of possible proposed routes, preliminary evaluation of social and environmental impact, and details regarding the preparation of the design phase for the overhead power transmission line and transformer stations.
